That this election is over.

A Winston Churchill quote sums up much of where we are today, and probably where we have been many times.
“You can always count on Americans to do the right thing – after they’ve tried everything else.”
-Winston Churchill
Thanks to The Daily Show and Comedy Central, all the clips from the past two weeks RNC and DNC convention are available to watch and SHARE.
I found this one to be particularly illuminating regarding the difference between McCain and Bush. (i.e. there won’t be one)
Starting 4:30 minutes in, they show that the John McCain speech is almost word for word the same as the campaign speech given by George W. Bush.
In their own words. I’m just sayin….
Do these people not realize everything is being video taped these days?
I got this link from a few places for a quiz about the candidate that aligns with your opinions on the issues the most. Once again, Dennis K. is my man. I sure wish I lived in a country where he could win. Electoral college votes are not the votes of the people. We people have to pick two, one from each party and let them slug it out. It’s a numbers game and a third party candidate doesn’t have the numbers to win.
Politics have sort of made me feel icky the last several years. Al Franken gives me some hope. Go donate some early money to help this worthy Norm Coleman contender out.
Today is a day of protest to draw attention to this:

An increase in royalties that would lead to
the virtual shutdown of this country’s
Internet radio industry if it is implemented.

Please show some love for the little guy, especially in music.
The following information is from the Radio and Internet Newsletter.
“Internet radio may be driven out of business within weeks by a Copyright Royalty Board decision that gives record companies a royalty rate that exceeds 100% of most webcasters’ total revenues.
Visit SaveNetRadio.org for links to a petition to Congress you can sign, and to send the message directly to your Representative and Senators thatyou don’t want to lose Internet radio!”
Apparently, John McCain, when asked if there is a strategy to attack Iran, replied, “You know that old Beach Boys song, Bomb Iran?” the Republican presidential candidate said. Then, he sang. “Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran.”
I guess someone forgot to tell him the cameras are always on. He claims it was a joke, but is that really funny coming from a U.S. Senator and presidential candidate?
I have to say, i’m not very amused.
I posted awhile ago that I thought Oprah should run for president. Now that Barack Obama has formed an exploratory committee, maybe she should run as his V.P. That would be pretty hard to beat.
